Haunui Silk, (pronounced Hoo-noo-ee and translated as “place of the winds”) is a natural blend of raw mulberry silk and a unique mixed-breed Haunui fine-micron wool solely from the Taranui family farm in New Zealand. This limited-run yarn is a single ply with a sprightly, thick and thin quality, which lends itself to both easy and advanced stitchwork by creating its own visual texture. And oh, that texture! Soft, squishy, and with a touch of shine, Haunui Silk will delight the senses as you bring your project to life.

No two Haunui sheep are exactly the same colour, but their undyed fleece fall into colour categories, and are blended to create rich shades of oatmeal, brown, gray, and black, all marled with lustrous white mulberry silk.
