At Sunday Fibre Co, they believe in minimizing our impact on the environment. They specialise in dyeing organic and non-superwash or eco-superwash fibres.

Animal welfare and ethics are extremely important to the Sunday Fibre Co. All yarns are sourced from farms that do NOT practice mulesing.

Suppliers for all Sunday Fibre Co yarns work closely with their farms to ensure ethical & high animal welfare practices.

South American Merino wool: mulesing is not necessary due to the climate. The sheep are from farms that range in size from 500-1000 acres, with plenty of space to graze. They are well looked after, and are safeguarded according to The Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare:

  • Freedom from hunger and thirst
  • Freedom from discomfort
  • Freedom from pain, injury or disease
  • Freedom to express most normal behaviour
  • Freedom from fear and distress

Australian Merino wool: a premium is paid to purchase only Australian wool certified to be mulesing-free, and comply with high animal welfare standards.
