Sirdar Loveful Bio Blend Chunky is a soft, innovative chunky yarn featuring award-winning CiCLO® technology. The blend combines recycled polyester and wool to create a yarn with a gorgeous soft texture, while CiCLO® technology is designed to help reduce the time microplastic fibres persist in the environment.

CiCLO® technology was created to reduce the environmental impact of microplastic pollution from synthetic textiles. It is a nature-based solution which enables synthetic textiles to behave more like natural fibres, reducing the time microplastic fibre pollution lasts in the environment. CiCLO® Technology does not affect performance or durability, ensuring products are made to last, not here forever. When CiCLO® treated synthetic textiles unavoidably shed their microfibres, microbes are attracted to the material and are able to build functional entities to digest the molecules similarly to how they do with naturally biodegradable materials such as wool or cotton. While the rate of breakdown of any inherently biodegradable fibre is highly dependent on actual environmental conditions, long term studies have proven that with CiCLO®, fibres decompose at rates comparable to wool.
