Scandinavians Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison are award-winning designers, textile artists and authors. They are best known for their original, colourful and visually striking designs as well as their craft books. Their work is highly influenced by their Scandinavian background and their everyday life in rural Norway. The duo have worked under the moniker "ARNE & CARLOS" since 2002.
ARNE & CARLOS have now developed a sock yarn collection that picks up on their iconic designs and patterns, and transfers them to a beautiful sock yarn with 75% virgin wool and 25% recycled nylon. The recycled polyamide in the sock wool is the more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional sock yarn. The recycled nylon in the sock wool is the more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional synthetic fibres.
The colours and effects of the collection are characterised by ingenious colour gradients and patterns that automatically create an interesting design when knitted, without any colour changes or complicated techniques.
For the colours and patterns, ARNE & CARLOS were inspired by traditional Norwegian patterns and the nature of Scandinavia. For example, some colourways reflect the tones of Norwegian fjords, forest landscapes or folkloristic embroidery. The colours and patterns are designed in such a way that a harmonious, symmetrical pattern is automatically created when knitting socks. Even with styles or accessories other than socks, exciting and harmonious patterns are created that can vary depending on the knitting widths.
