Say hello to the Yarn Bomb; double the yardage of Freia's famous Shawl Ball, in one long gradient! Freia fine handpainted yarns use locally sourced acid dyes throughout, as they offer the greatest consistency and are gentle to our environment. With signature smooth, slow (extra-long!) gradations, this yarn is soft and lofty.

There are knit patterns here that specifically call for a Freia Yarn Bomb or two, knit patterns here in various amounts of Freia Merino Fingering and other ombre fingering yarns, and crochet patterns here that would look stunning in a Yarn Bomb!

Please note that the colourway images are photos of the 100g Shawl Balls, but each colourway will appear the same on the 200g Yarn Bombs, as shown above.

Shawl Balls and Yarn Bombs are wound in both directions of a given ombre, so if your cake is wound in the opposite direction of our photo, rest assured that it is the same yardage of each colour in the ombre. For example, a blue-to-white gradient will have some cakes with the blue in the centre and some with the blue on the outside, but it is the same amount of blue even though it looks like less when it is in the centre. You may start knitting at either end of the ombre by pulling from the outside of the cake or the centre of the cake.
