Aptly named, Cumulus is one of those few yarns whose softness defies belief. Put all preconceived notions of "cotton yarn" out of your head. Mako cotton has an extra long fibre length/staple which can be spun into smaller-diameter threads for high thread count luxury bedding, or in this case very loosely spun into a worsted-thickness yarn for knitting, crochet, or weaving. You could almost list the air itself as part of the fibre makeup.
