Product Description

The farmer of this fibre is Shivani Howe, co-founder and head teacher at Ishtadev Niwas Ashram & Farm in Ta-Ta Creek, BC (near Kimberley). This non-profit yoga ashram supports itself through donations, student and retreat fees, selling homemade breads, honey, eggs, & produce at the local farmer's market, and by raising a small flock of Shetland sheep, alpacas, & angora goats. These animals are hand-sheared, and various fine fiber blends are mill-spun into undyed single-origin yarn that is rustic yet heavenly soft. Niwas Natural Fibers are available to the public exclusively through Urban Yarns at our Point Grey, Vancouver location and online.

The colour of this fibre blend is the natural colours of the animals it came from: first-shearing angora goats Winter & Sparkle! It is undyed and non-superwash. Use it on its own or add accents of colour with Katia Concept Mohair Lace. This yarn is also suitable for weaving, hand-dying and felting.
