Product Description

Kenzie just may be the perfect tweed. New Zealand merino, angora and alpaca lend softness and body, while nylon lends strength and silk noils (aka flecks) contribute delicate texture and colour accents. This smooth, round plied yarn knits into a cohesive fabric that blooms when wet blocked. The angora haze is just fuzzy enough to lend a cozy feel, but not so fuzzy that it will obscure any stitch patterning/texture or cables.

We have collected some of our favourite patterns for Kenzie for you on Ravelry, or substitute it in your worsted/DK favourites!

Content: 50% New Zealand merino wool, 25% nylon, 10% angora, 10% alpaca, 5% silk noils
Weight: 50 grams / 1.76 oz
Length: 146 meters / 160 yards
Gauge: 20 stitches per 4"/10cm
Suggested Needle Size: 4-5mm / US 6-8
Care: Hand wash cool, air dry flat

Note about yarn weight:
Kenzie looks and feels best knit anywhere in the range of DK to Worsted gauges. Since the angora in the yarn blooms quite a bit once blocked, it is able to be knit at the worsted weight and fill in the space nicely, but do keep in mind that it is versatile and also creates a suitable fabric when knit at a tighter gauge such as 22-24st, or at a looser gauge even down to 16st. An effective way to determine if a yarn will suit your pattern/project is to do a test swatch at your desired gauge, block it however you plan on blocking your final piece, and see if you are happy with the fabric it creates.
