My First Socks

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit socks but thought it was too difficult? Let us show you just how easy it can be. Using the Churchmouse Basic Sock pattern you will learn what cast-on to use, how to turn a heel, and how to Kitchener Stitch a toe. The class runs for 3 Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm, starting November 20, 2018 and is held at Urban Yarns Lonsdale, 1760 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver BC.

Supplies (not included):

You are welcome to bring your own supplies or come 15 minutes early to the first class to purchase them

  • Churchmouse Basic Sock Pattern
  • approx. 400 yds of a fingering-weight yarn or 275 yds of a DK or Sport weight yarn
  • Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) size 2.25-2.50mm (fingering) or 3.25mm (DK or sport)
  • a stitch marker
  • a darning needle

Prerequisites: Students should know how to knit, purl, cast on, cast off, and be able to knit in the round. Experience with Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) would also be an asset.
